More on Texas Land Commissioner

Posted by David Hardy · 3 November 2007 06:08 AM

Here's a detailed article on Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson. I know him pretty well, and as the article says, he has firm beliefs and will tell you frankly about them. How he got ahead in the world of politics escapes me.....

Maybe Jerry Patterson is good evidence for one of Rush Limbaugh's constant refrains, namely that conservatism works well as a political strategy when it is well articulated by those willing to stick by its principles in the face of criticism from people like Douglas Brinkley.

Guns in National Parks would seem to be an issue that can gain support if properly explained by a public figure who is not fearful of liberals, as most Republicans seem to be.

I think it's much EASIER on the citizenry and a public official like Patterson when you just play it straight and be who you are.

I'm happy to have a person like Patterson in office. Hell of a guy. Likes M14s.
