Not LA Sheriff's Office shining hour...
Story here. The guy wasn't exactly an upstanding citizen, but the basis for shooting is doubtful at best, and at the end of the gunplay the score stands:
120 shots fired, apparently at a stationary SUV and driver.
66 hits on the SUV.
9 hits on the driver, all survivable.
11 hits on the deputies' own squadcars.
1 hit on a deputy, likewise survivable.
Eleven hits on five different houses in the area.

How did all those friendly fire shots land? Did the cops get themselves in a crossfire?

I'd call it the Keystone Cops, except for the extreme danger to the folks nearby. What does it take to demote these jokers? or fire them?

This is just the scenario envisioned by opponents of concealed carry...especially on campuses of higher learning. Yet, it's obvious that this situation is almost impossible to be equalled given the presence of concealed carry license holders.

But remember, only the police are highly trained enough to use a firearm safely in public.

The more you think about it the worse this looks. Not only were they shooting at a stationary target, but the target wasn't shooting back!
The deputies there were, by any argument, a danger to themselves and others. They should all be issued exactly 1 bullet which they are required to keep in their shirt pocket.

22 shots are unaccounted for, too.

This looks like a failed attempt to execute the perp without benefit of counsel or jury trial.

When I first saw this I thought it was a joke or an ad like those vitamins that are supposed to improve your eyesight and enable you to put em all through the same hole in the center of the X ring.
They could use this crew for the "before" example.
