I saw that story. Didn't sound like he was doing an 'Only One' but when you have someone literally shooting themselves in the foot how can you resist?

Clearly firearms are too dangerous to be left in the hands of undertrained law enforcement officers - especially chiefs.
[digression: Chaos: Chief Has Arrived On Scene]
Better take those things away from cops before a child is hurt. If we save only one.....

An important reason for Mr. Hardy to keep this story on his site has already been alluded to by folks who have already commented.
Remember folks, there are ten states that are not "shall-issue."
Those of us who live in one of them are constantly told that only super-SWAT LEOs can be trusted to carry a loaded firearm.
(Before some j@ck@ss insinuates something about me, let it be known that my brother is a high-ranking member of a SWAT team, and I am as pro-LEO as can be.)
I actually have a job which brings me into daily contact with dangerous criminals who sometimes take a virulent dislike to me.
Will the issuing authority--in my case, the L.A. Co. Sheriff--deign to recognize my right to armed self-defense?
No.
He states that he'll consider it--but only AFTER I have been the victim of a violent criminal attack.
Don't believe me?

California has issues not unlike DC or Chicago. The 2nd Amendment should be seen and used as a partner and not a problem to protect and serve the people.
