AG nominee on the gun issue

Posted by David Hardy · 21 November 2008 01:17 AM

Here's Dave Kopel's take, at the Volokh Conspiracy. Holder seems opposed to guns, except when federal LEOs are sticking them in civilians' faces.

When it comes to the RKBA, he's no Condi Rice. Or even Alan Dershowitz.

Foxnews' Hannity made him look like an idiot.

No Don, Hannity didn't. He made himself look like an idiot. It wasn't hard to do. He is an idiot.

Rereading my post, I realized my use of pronouns might be confusing. Hannity just gave Holder the opportunity to look like an idiot, and he took it.

Holder's also in favor of restrictions on speech* so you can argue against him effectively no matter your audience.

Some backlash against Holder might encourage Obama fans so take a closer look at his actions in the future, esp. if you mention Obama's vote for FISA.

Another liberty restricting moron. God help us all.

Does anyone know how much involvement Eric Holder had in the 'Nuremberg defense' of FBI sniper Lon Horiuchi?

For those unaware, Boundary County Idaho charged Lon Horiuch with manslaughter in 1997 for the 1992 shooting death of Vicki Weaver. The primary defense strategy of Horichi was to force the trial into Federal court and then claim immunity from Idaho law because Horichi was a federal agent following orders. In other words claiming Federal agents have the power to commit murder with impunity as long as they are just following orders!

(And lefties complain about Gitmo? Good grief!)
