Six years ago

Six years ago today my son Mark awakened and heard no labored breathing. His mother, my ex Frances, had died of cancer. Her webpage is here. About this time I was at the funeral home in Falls Church VA, making arrangements.

God bless you David. It is hard to know what words would be comforting to you and your family at this time. I’m sure Frances is with our Lord. God speed for the strength to somehow make this a day of remembering the good times, and not for a time of sorrow.

Yes, David. God Bless you for sharing. God Bless Frances.

Slán agus beannacht leat.

I had the same experience as your son. My mother died around this time of year too, also from cancer. Fifteen years ago as of May 31st. She was 43, which when you're 20 seems pretty old. I'm now about the same age she was when she was diagnosed. Doesn't seem too old anymore.

My sympathies to both of you.

A sad story because a woman died young, but it's good to see such strong family. Not everybody has the privilege of having been part of a close family.

God Bless.
